Blackburn shed sells for £1.4m

Joint agents Jones Lang LaSalle and Taylor Weaver have sold a 30,000 sq ft unit at Point Five, Walker Park to engineering business WEC Group.

The shed is the second of two speculative builds that were constructed by developer PPG Land in phase one of its Point Five scheme.

WEC Group joins work wear supplier LH Safety which occupies the adjacent 26,000 sq ft Unit 1 of the development.

Six acres remain for design-and-build occupiers. Jones Lang LaSalle, Knight Frank and Taylor Weaver are the retained agents for PPG and Marshall Construction.

Walker Park is next to junction 5 of the M65 motorway. Sally Hair & Beauty, Bibby Distribution and Wincanton are among the occupiers.

Daniel Burn, director of Jones Lang LaSalle in Manchester, said: "This is a significant deal for the area which demonstrates the strong underlying demand for high quality, modern stock in the North West market.

"Manufacturing and engineering businesses like WEC in particular are behind many active requirements in the region and the supply of suitable space is limited."
