Blackburn business proposes 60,000 sq ft hub
Rocplas Distribution has lodged plans for a four-storey facility on Carl Fogarty Way.
Founded in 2001, Rocplas specialises in the manufacture and distribution of decorative glazing products and is currently based at Harwood Street in Blackburn.
The 60,000 sq ft development, which comprises warehouse and office space, would occupy a 1.5-acre plot north-east of the town centre, less than a mile from its existing premises.
The scheme is to feature glazed, ground floor sales space with ancillary office, meeting and staff spaces, according to a design and access statement by architect Campbell Driver Partnership.
“The aspiration is to further the area’s reputation as a growing business hub, through the provision of a high-quality business unit in a highly prominent location,” the architect added.
Carl Fogarty is named after the former superbike world champion of the same name. It opened in 2019 and is the final section of the £4.8m Furthergate Link Road.
The link road is designed to relieve congestion on the existing road network and open up new areas for development, particularly industrial sites along the river Blakewater.
Another positive development in Blackburn….good planning improved transportation and faster access to town centre and created Moore employment land
