Black & White acquires 2.23 acre Crewe site

Highcross Developers has sold a 2.23 acre plot on its industrial and distribution development at Orion Park, University Way, Crewe to Black & White.

The site has detailed planning consent for 44,000 sq ft in four high specification buildings with extensive car parking and yard areas.

Black & White plans to start construction in early June, with completion due before the end of 2013.

As part of the deal, Black & White has agreed a pre-sale of an 11,000 sq ft high bay warehouse building.

Lamonts and GVA jointly represented Highcross.

Lamonts director Matthew Pochin, said: "The acquisition represents a major step forward in the industrial sector with a speculative development of this scale being almost non-existent throughout Cheshire over the last five years."

Black & White was unrepresented in the acquisition but has retained Lamonts to market the scheme.

The sale of Plot 1 leaves two development plots on Orion Park, both of which have detailed planning consent.

The plots provide the opportunity for 35,000 sq ft or 54,300 sq ft developments respectively.

The estate is now well established, with existing occupiers including Bentley, Hermes, Higham & Higham and Sure Retail.
