BGP joins St John’s team

Allied London has appointed Bruce Gillingham Pollard as retail and leisure leasing consultant on the St John's development in Quay Street, Manchester.

BGP will oversee the creation of 300,000 sq ft of shops, restaurants, leisure and hotels at the former ITV Granada site, including the regeneration of the 100,000 sq ft Bonded Warehouse.

Allied London has worked with BGP for 15 years on the development of Spinningfields and the letting 150,000 sq ft of shop and restaurant units to occupiers such as Flannels, Mulberry, Carluccios and most recently Iberica.

Mike Ingall, chief executive of Allied London said: "We have had a very long standing relationship with the directors at Bruce Gillingham Pollard over many years now starting with our redevelopment of Christopher's Place in St Albans and the Brunswick Centre in London, and they have worked alongside us in the creation at Spinningfields as one of the strongest mixed-use quarters anywhere in Europe.

"We want to build on the success of that development and create a new urban village for Manchester where we have the unique ability to provide a very cool and vibrant collection of shops, restaurants, hotels and leisure space in a fantastic collection of historic and new buildings adjacent to Manchester's main museum and art spaces."

Deloitte and JLL also advise Allied London on the St John's scheme.
