Cheshire East’s planning committee has approved the plans by prestige car manufacturer Bentley to build a 92,536 sq ft logistics facility on existing hardstanding to the east of its Pym’s Lane plant.
The plot has been incorporated into the Bentley estate in recent years, and the building will be used purely for storage rather than manufacturing. The proposal also allows for the improvement of parking areas to accommodate heavier vehicles.
However, the other significant scheme to go before committee has work to do. Pochin’s plans for Admiral Court, a 66,000 sq ft four-storey office scheme at Electra Way, was deferred, with more information on car parking provision requested. The proposal submitted included 182 parking spaces.
The scheme sits on an empty plot between an Ibis hotel and the headquarters of Wulvern Housing, and was recommended for approval subject to contributions to traffic management schemes and travel plan monitoring. Pochin is working with AEW Architects and HOW Planning.
