The menswear brand is to open a 1,755 sq ft store on Manesty’s Lane at the beginning of April, the first store of its kind for Ben Sherman outside London and the South East.
Liverpool ONE reported 12% increase in sales in the year-to-date compared to the start of 2016.
Set to be the first full price “concept store” to open outside London, the new boutique will stock the brand’s full range of clothing and accessories. Ben Sherman joins Flannels, Michael Kors, Beauty Bazaar Harvey Nichols, Dr Martens and Pretty Green in the higher end part of the retail district around Peter’s Lane and Manesty’s Lane.
Miles Dunnett of Grosvenor Europe said: “The arrival of Ben Sherman, the first store of its kind to open outside of London’s West End, is another example of Liverpool ONE’s position as one of the leading retail and leisure destinations in the UK. The strong British heritage of the Ben Sherman blends with Liverpool ONE’s other iconic retailers and is a great addition to the mix.”
David Basterfield, retail director at Ben Sherman, said: “Choosing the right locations for exclusive stores outside London is crucial. Liverpool ONE stood out as an opportunity: the brand complements our own, we are joining one of the strongest line-up of fashion and accessories retailers in the country, and Liverpool ONE continues to out-perform.”
In addition to the signing of Ben Sherman, Hollister has launched its latest store concept on Liverpool ONE’s South John Street. JD Sports and Superdry are currently preparing to open new regional flagships in Liverpool ONE, whilst GUESS and Five Guys will make their debuts in time for the summer.
Metis Real Estate Advisors and Cushman & Wakefield acted for Liverpool ONE. Ben Sherman dealt directly.
