Bellway plans Widnes development
Bellway Homes is planning a new residential development after purchasing a 2.25 acre site in Cronton, Widnes, for an undisclosed sum.
The site, previously owned by a private land owner, has outline planning consent for 26 houses. Bellway intends to develop a scheme comprising a mix of two storey family housing.
Will Rees, residential land agency director at Liverpool-based chartered surveyors Rees Straw, who concluded the sale on behalf of Bellway, said: "Present market conditions mean that focus is on good quality locations and family product where there is reduced exposure to buyers with low equity. Bellway's purchase of this site is typical of what the mainstream house builders are seeking at present – a strong surrounding residential area, coupled with a greenfield site and low infrastructure cost."
