Bellway Homes buys Westhoughton land

The housebuilder has acquired 10.5 acres of land in the Bolton suburb for a residential development called The Vistas, which will offer 129 houses.

Located on Collingwood Way, the development will be split between three- and four-bedroom homes

Susannah Thomas, sales manager at Bellway Homes, said: “We are delighted to be back in Bolton. The site layout for The Vistas is superb with a great range of properties to meet the current local housing requirements.

“Remediation works on site have commenced and initial interest from buyers has started to filter through. We are looking forward to launching the development later this year, with the release of the first phase.”

Bellway is to make a financial contribution to the local community, including £763,000 towards education, £112,000 towards public open space in the locality and will provide a play area on site. The site sits a mile from the A6, A58 and Westhoughton railway station.

Other schemes progressed by Bellway this year include 241 homes at Campbell Road, Swinton, which was approved by Salford’s planning commitee in May, and the residential element of Ion’s Earlsfield Park, approved last week, which will bring 154 homes to North Huyton.
