Bellway confident in Cheshire

Bellway Homes, advised by HOW Planning, is progressing with two Cheshire housing schemes.

A full planning application has gone in for a scheme comprising 51 new homes at Gresty Green, immediately next to the settlement boundary of Crewe, Cheshire East Council's chosen focus area for new housing. The development will include 35% affordable housing.

HOW has also been appointed on a second housing scheme for Bellway in Middlewich and intends to submit an application later this year.

Richard Barton, principal planner at HOW, said: "It is great to be working with one of the country's largest and most established house builders. Bellway Homes aims to deliver schemes which have a strong regional identity and which meet local housing needs and we are confident the scheme at Gresty Green will be another such development."

The Gresty Green development in Crewe comprises a combination of mews and detached family homes and also includes areas of public open space. Whilst developing on land occupied by a dilapidated and unviable small holding, every attempt will be made to retain mature trees and hedgerows and plant new specimens to preserve the character of the existing area.
