BDP exhibition to close next week

There is just over one week left to view an exhibition in Manchester marking 50 years of work by design practice BDP.

Founded in Preston in 1961 by George Grenfell Baines, BDP now has studios across the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, India, China and Abu Dhabi and employs over 1,000 staff.

The exhibition features models and images of award-winning projects in North West that involved the practice including the BDP Manchester Studio, the Abito apartments in Salford, and the RIBA Stirling Prize-nominated Liverpool One shopping centre.

The exhibition is running at the Cube Gallery in Portland Street, Manchester city centre, Monday to Friday, until 4 November between 12pm and 5.30pm. The exhibition is also open on Saturday, 12-5.30pm

The practice has also published a book entitled BDP 6111 Continuous Collective written by Sunday Times architecture critic and RIBA Journal editor Hugh Pearman to mark the anniversary.
