BDP confirms ‘green expert’ for official office opening

BDP Manchester has announced leading environmental campaigner and commentator, Tony Juniper, will be guest speaker at the official launch tomorrow of its new headquarters in Piccadilly Basin.

Juniper is special advisor to Prince Charles's Rainforest Project and former executive director of Friends of the Earth. He joins Sir Howard Bernstein, chief executive of Manchester City Council, who will officially open the 33,000 sq ft offices.

BDP moved its 260 staff from Sunlight House in September. It is the first naturally ventilated office building in Manchester to achieve an Excellent BREEAM rating and has been named as one of the greenest buildings in the UK.

Over 150 of Manchester's leading figures, drawn from the private and public sector, academia and NGOs, are set to attend the official opening.
