BCSC: House of Fraser, Aubin & Wills for Liverpool One

House of Fraser is to open one of its new click-and-collect format smaller stores in Liverpool One. The Jack Wills spin-off brand has also signed at Grosvenor's centre.

The upmarket department store group is understood to have signed a 10-year lease on 1,500 sq ft in the former Ollie & Nic unit at the end of Peter's Lane opposite Jigsaw.

The Peter's Lane store will include a coffee shop and a suite of computers for browsing online, as well as a collection counter for customers to pick up purchased goods.

House of Fraser started the click-and-collect roll out in August with a deal at Hammerson's centre in Aberdeen. The group is targeting towns and cities where it does not have a store but enjoys good internet sales.

Grosvenor's Liverpool One will also soon welcome Jack Wills sister concept Aubin & Wills, taking the unit of around 3,000 sq ft on the corner of School Lane and Church Alley formerly occupied by jeweller David M Robinson. David M Robinson has now closed on Church Alley after 37 years and Aubin & Wills is fitting out to open before Christmas. David M Robinson has another store in Liverpool One on South John Street.

The vacant 22,000 sq ft Habitat unit at the other end of Peter's Lane from the House of Fraser store is currently under offer with an unnamed tenant close to signing in the next few weeks.

Grosvenor was exhibiting at BCSC 2011 but declined to comment. Letting agents on Liverpool One are Cushman & Wakefield and Tushingham Moore.
