Barton Willmore hires in Manchester

Planning and design consultancy Barton Willmore has appointed Ian Gilbert as a senior planner in its Manchester office, joining from Hunter Page Planning.

Before joining Barton Willmore's Spinningfields-based team, Gilbert worked on successful planning applications for a four storey flagship BMW, Mini and Motorrad Dealership in the Cheltenham Green Belt and a 344-unit holiday resort including leisure facilities at St Column Major, Cornwall.

Dan Mitchell, partner in Barton Willmore's Manchester office, said: "With the addition of Ian we now have an even stronger planning team here in Manchester, offering town planning expertise to our growing list of clients."

Mitchell said Gilbert comes with a track record in building good working relationships with stakeholders and delivering potentially contentious planning permissions.
