The 26-month design-and-build contract is for a new 40,000 sq ft police station incorporating offices for 240 staff, 14-cell custody suite and fleet maintenance garage.

The building will be required to meet high standards of energy efficiency and aspire to a BREEAM 'excellent' standard.
