Barristers move to 201 Deansgate

Acting on behalf of Exchange Chambers, Cushman & Wakefield has agreed a 10-year lease for 9,500 sq ft of offices on the fifth floor of 201 Deansgate, Manchester. Quoting rents at the building are £24.50/sq ft.

Exchange Chambers will relocate from its current premises in Ralli Courts at the start of 2014. The owner of 201 Deansgate, Kames Capital on behalf of Aegon UK Property Fund, spent £1.5m refurbishing the building this year.

The five-storey building is also home to DWF and TD Waterhouse. Only one floor of 15,000 sq ft now remains available in the building.

Jonathan Baucher, associate at Cushman & Wakefield, said: "We carried out an extensive search of the market before identifying 201 Deansgate as the ideal solution for Exchange Chambers. The building has a central and prominent location close to the law courts which were essential considerations. In addition, the exceptionally high quality of accommodation means that it was most suited for Exchange Chambers and the roof terrace and basement car parking were also added attractions."

Chris Mulcahy, director of Jones Lang LaSalle, acted on behalf of Kames Capital.
