Barnfield completes £22m Alderbank

Real Estate Investment Partnerships has sold 65% of the properties at its 39-home Altrincham scheme, and expects to sell the remaining units before the summer.

Lead contractor Barnfield Construction has completed the development, designed by Ollier Smurthwaite Architects, after planning approval was granted by Trafford Council in 2016.

The scheme features a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments and townhouses on the site of the former Alexandra House on St Johns Road.

Issues around the creation of an underground car park and more recently the Covid-19 pandemic delayed the project somewhat.

“Completion of this scheme is a real achievement for us,” said Stephen Slater, chief executive at Real Estate Investment Partnerships.

“Our partners and my team have worked non-stop to get this project finished through the most challenging of environments. We feel that the finished product has created a true community – we can see this already from residents’ feedback.”

The last remaining apartments are being sold through joint agents Hibbert Homes and Gascoigne Halman.

The project was funded by BLG Development Finance.
