Barlows signs football centre in Chester
Goals Soccer Centres have begun work on a £2.5m football facility in Chester. The centre will feature 10 all-weather synthetic football pitches with refreshment areas, changing rooms and parking.
The facility will form part of Chester Commerce Park off Bumpers Lane opposite Chester Football Club. There are approximately 3.5 acres of land remaining for further leisure and commercial development.
Charles Shepherd, director of site owner Barlows, said: "The arrival of Goals Soccer Centres to Chester Commerce Park is a major boost to the local area, as well as to the scheme providing a much needed leisure facility and a boost to the local economy. We very much hope that in the future other companies will wish to locate their businesses to Chester Commerce Park which is now an emerging leisure destination."
The arenas will be surfaced in the latest revolutionary 5G artificial turf system as approved by FIFA. The floodlit arenas, each named after a world famous stadium, will be available for play daily from 9.00 am to 11.00 pm. In addition, the facilities will be made available free of charge or at discounted rates for local schools and colleges at certain times during the week.
Goals will also operate affiliated 5-a-side leagues with some events seeing winners play at Wembley National Stadium.
It is intended that the centre will be open for trade in March 2012.
Letting agents on the park are Legat Owen, Bolton Birch and Hindley Lawrence.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
