Bardsley to deliver £10m Fleetwood extra care scheme

Regenda Homes has chosen Bardsley to build a £9.8m extra care scheme on Chatsworth Avenue in Fleetwood, which will provide 72 apartments.

Alongside apartments, the project will provide communal facilities and car parking, while the existing Wansbeck House will be demolished to make way for the scheme. Access from both Chatsworth Avenue and The Croft will also be improved.

The project has been designed by Liverpool-based practice DK Architects for Regenda, which manages around 13,000 properties across the North West from its head office in Liverpool.

Projects Bardsley has previously delivered for Regenda Homes include a £4.5m housing project on Chapel Street in St Helens; and a £1.9m scheme of 21 apartments on Upper Pitt Street in Liverpool.

Gareth Wyatt, development project manager at Regenda Homes, said: “We are delighted to appoint Bardsley as the main contractor for this project. Bardsley has a proven track record of delivering specialist care schemes and we look forward to working together.”

Ged Rooney, procurement director at Bardsley Construction, said: “Our selection for this prestigious contract with Regenda Homes is further evidence of Bardsley being recognised for the delivery of such specialist care facilities throughout the North West of England and Yorkshire, and continues the long relationship we have with them in the successful delivery of similar projects.”
