Bar and barber joins Hawksmoor at The Courthouse
One Eight Six, described as a hybrid barbershop and nightclub, is set to open next month after the operator agreed to take 5,600 sq ft at The Courthouse on Manchester’s Deansgate.
It is set to join neighbours Hawksmoor and the Oddfellows Society at the grade two-listed building and will offer traditional barbery along with a club, entered via a hidden door.
The club will include a raised stage to host events and a concealed green room. Cocktails relating to each barber’s personality will also be served.
The Courthouse, owned by Henry Boot Developments, was built in 1896 and served as the home of the Manchester County Court. The overall site is 35,000 sq ft, of which Oddfellows occupies 13,500 sq ft.
The agents for The Courthouse are Cheetham & Mortimer and Sixteen Real Estate.

Barber shops seem to have tattoo shops attached these days. I must get there for a haircut (and add to the collection)
