Banksy pub owners drop price

The owners of the Banksy pub on Berry Street in Liverpool have reduced the guide price ahead of auction this Friday from £175,000 to £125,000.

Sina Moradian and Billy Palmer hope to secure a quick sale at the auction, being held by Venmore Auctions in the Hilton in Liverpool One at 2.00pm. The pair paid £114,000 for the building in February of this year.

Graffiti artist Banksy created the landmark artwork on the side of the building for the 2004 Liverpool Biennial art festival.

The 200-year-old pub is a listed building and the owner must apply to Liverpool City Council for planning consent if they choose not to keep the artwork and paint over it.
