Mark Bamber

Bamber to join Knight Frank

Mark Bamber, associate director and acting head of office agency at Lambert Smith Hampton in Manchester, is leaving the company after 13 years for a role as associate partner at Knight Frank.

Bamber will be replacing Matthew Duckworth, who has been an associate partner for nearly two years with roles in Knight Frank's Manchester and Vietnam offices. Bamber is due to start his new role at Knight Frank in May, while Duckworth leaves the firm in June, and plans to retrain to become a teacher.

Bamber's departure is the latest in a series of high profile exits from the LSH Manchester office, with head of office agency David Thwaites departing in July 2013. Thwaites is now at GVA.

LSH veteran and former head of the Manchester office, Peter Skelton, moved to a part-time consultancy role in September. He now works two days a week at LSH and three days at developer Nikal.

David Porter, head of Knight Frank's Manchester office said: "All the team at Knight Frank would like to wish Matthew the very best with his new career in teaching and we will be sorry to see him leave in June.

"We have a good handover period in place and I am confident Mark Bamber will settle in quickly and be a very good fit with our team and clients."

A spokesman from LSH said: "Our strategic focus in Manchester is to ensure the office has the best possible structure and team in place to capitalise on the upcoming opportunities in the property sector.

"We believe that there is potential for significant growth in the region and are investing to ensure that we continue to successfully guide clients through this fast-moving market. We are in the process of expanding our team with new senior hires and hope to make further announcements in the future.

"We're disappointed that Mark Bamber has chosen to leave us but recognise that such things happen during times of change. We wish him good look and thank him for his efforts."
