BAM makes it £100m college wins in a fortnight

BAM Construction, formerly HBG, has won a £56.2m job from Bolton Community College and Sixth Form Centre to build a single new town centre campus on Deane Road.

Last week, BAM, based in Salford, won a £48m contract from West Cheshire College for new premises in Chester and Ellesmere Port.

The 200,000 sq ft Bolton campus will include a sports centre and performing arts studios and is due to open in September 2010.

Featherfoot Globe was meant to revitalise the historic Globe Works site off Bridgeman Street. Now, the company – linked to Yorkshire-based Empire Property Holdings – has appointed administrators, grinding those plans to a halt.
