BAM lands £73m office build

Developer Allied London has appointed BAM Construct to deliver its £73m office building One Spinningfields, partially prelet to PwC.

The part 24-storey new-build and part refurbishment of the former Quay House on Quay Street is one of the last two remaining major office development plots at Spinningfields. The other, XYZ, is also on site, with McLaren the main contractor.

One Spinningfields will contain 260,000 sq ft of office space and floor plates of up to 25,000 sq ft. PwC recently completed a 50,000 sq ft prelet.

BAM is expected to start the 97-week build programme in June.

One Spinningfields was designed by architects Simpson Haugh & Partners with technical detailing by Axis. The client team includes Gardiner & Theobald as the project manager and cost consultant and Mott MacDonald as the façade engineer. The design team now novated to BAM includes Roc Consulting as the civil and structural engineer, Grontmij as the building services engineer and Axis.
