Ball joins Pitalia as director

Greg Ball has departed Urban Splash to team up with David Lathwood at the fledgling property fund, set up earlier this year.

Ball has been appointed as Pitalia Real Estate’s development and investment director.

He joins having spent the last 16 months as senior development director at Urban Splash.

Prior to his stint at Urban Splash, Ball spent a year at U+I where he was involved in the £1.4bn Mayfield mixed-use scheme.

Ball enjoyed five years at Muse Developments between 2014 and 2019 and, before that, just shy of nine years at JLL, where he coincided with Lathwood.

Former JLL North West chairman Lathwood set up Pitalia Real Estate in March with the backing of entrepreneur, Anil Pitalia.

Lathwood, chief executive of Pitalia Real Estate, said: “I’m really excited about teaming up with Greg again.  He brings an enormous pedigree of working on large and complex regeneration schemes, and this aligns perfectly with our vision of acquiring and developing assets that we can add value to and make best-in-class.”

Pitalia’s schemes include the regeneration of the former Hilti HQ at Trafford Wharf in joint venture with CTP, as well as the redevelopment of Aeroworks, the 35,000 sq ft former aircraft factory in Manchester.

Ball added: “David and Anil’s long-term plans for Pitalia Real Estate are exciting and right now the market is presenting lots of opportunities for those able to move quickly and deliver transformative residential and commercial schemes.

“The ability to work with a small but highly experienced and specialist team, with significant backing and the autonomy to be entrepreneurial is really appealing and I look forward to help grow the business.”
