Balfours names new MD

Balfour Beatty, the international infrastructure group, has announced a new leader for the North as part of a senior management reshuffle.

Thomas Edgcumbe has been appointed as managing director for Balfour Beatty’s regional construction business in the North and Midlands division.

Edgcumbe joined Balfour Beatty from Collins Construction in 2012 as head of finance for the rail business, responsible for the successful integration of two business areas and financial management of the rail civils business.

He has been promoted from his most recent position leading Balfour Beatty’s rail regional projects business. Edgcumbe replaces Mark Farrah who, following a short handover period, will be leaving the business at the end of August.

Steve Helliwell has been appointed as managing director for Balfour Beatty Living Places. Jon Winter has been appointed as managing director for Balfour Beatty’s regional construction business in the South.
