Baker & Coleman opens Manchester office

A new commercial law firm specialising in property and construction has been set up in Spinningfields, led by senior solicitors from DWF and Blackburn-based Walker Preston.

Baker & Coleman established a branch in Blackburn earlier this year to provide legal advice to private individuals. However in Manchester city centre the firm will focus on delivering development agreements, litigation and dispute resolution, and lease advice to property and construction companies.

Baker & Coleman was founded by Saghir Munir, formerly a senior solicitor in the construction and real estate team of DWF in Leeds, and Kamran Ellahi, who worked in-house at Odeon Cinemas, and Walker Preston.

Ellahi set up the Blackburn office of Baker & Coleman in February, and has grown the team to seven members of staff. Munir left DWF in October in order to establish the Manchester office, with Ellahi moving from the Blackburn office to grow the team in Spinningfields.

The firm has taken offices within 3 Hardman Street.
