B8 reshuffles as George and Davis take backseat

Specialist industrial and logistics advisor B8 Real Estate has restructured ownership of the business following the stepping down to consultant level of two if its founders.

Founders Simon Wood, Jon Thorne and Steve Johnson have become directors and shareholders of the latest incarnation of the business, B8RE Ltd, with fellow founders Tom Davis and Howard George becoming consultants after selling their stakes.

Daresbury-based B8RE was established in 2011 as a limited liability partnership partnership by former CBRE and DGi Davis George colleagues Davis, George and Wood. The trio left CBRE at the end of 2010 after a three-year earn-out period. CBRE acquired DGi Davis George in 2007 for an undisclosed sum.

B8RE quickly established itself as one of the leading practices for investment and agency advice in the industrial and logistics property sector.

Recent successes have included the letting of Onyx 350, Runcorn to B&M Bargains on behalf of Logicor, advising M&G on the funding of two units totalling 400,000 sq ft at Harworth Estates’ Logistics North Bolton, and Peel Logistics’ 280,000 sq ft letting to Culina at Port Salford.

Paul Thorne, formerly of Mason Owen and CBRE, joined in the summer to bolster the agency team and took the total number of staff to eight.

B8 is the planning use class for industrial and logistics.
