Atherton House sold for office-to-resi

Wilton Developments is to sell Atherton House on Talbot Road in Old Trafford, with new owner Cert Property set to convert the five-storey office building into 48 apartments.

Place North West understands Wilton Developments has agreed to sell the 20,000 sq ft building to Cert Property. Canning O’Neill acted for Wilton. Behr & Co acted for Cert.

The building is primarily occupied by charity Henshaws, which is due to move to alternative offices in Old Trafford.

Elevate Architects has now submitted an application to determine whether planning permission is required for the conversion, which will have a mix of one and two-bed apartments, or whether it can be carried out under permitted development rights.

One-bedroom apartments will be around 355 sq ft, with two-beds around 600 sq ft.

Consultant Cert Property has acted on a number of large-scale schemes in Manchester, including West Point, also in Old Trafford, which is due to be converted into 326 apartments.
