The Warrington-based primary healthcare property group has continued its recruitment of senior property people with Jenefer Greenwood as a non-executive director.
Greenwood is currently director of sales and lettings for Grosvenor Britain & Ireland. She was appointed to the board of the Crown Estate in 2004, and chairs its remuneration committee. She started her career at Hillier Parker and has worked for Grosvenor since 2003, having also been chairman of the National Skills Academy for Retail and president of the British Council of Shopping Centres.
At Assura, she will join the nomination, remuneration and audit committees. She will take the chair of the remuneration committee later this month, at which point Clare Hollingsworth will step down from the board.
Simon Laffin, non-executive chairman of Assura, said: "I am delighted that Assura has managed to attract another director of the calibre of Jenefer Greenwood to join the board. She brings 34 years of working in real estate, which will further strengthen the board's property expertise.
Together with the recent appointments of Graham Roberts as chief executive and David Richardson to head the audit committee, this means that the entire board will have changed over the last nine months. I am confident that the new board will provide powerful and focussed leadership for Assura for the future."
Greenwood commented: "This is an exciting time for me to join the board of Assura. I am looking forward to contributing to Assura's future development as a pure play primary healthcare property company. Assura is in an attractive and robust niche of the property market, with many unique and attractive features for investors. Importantly it is also providing much needed capital to improve the quality of GP surgery premises."
