Peel Media said it is in talks with Ascent Media Group to "provide a range of services" at Media City UK, in Salford.
Ascent has entered an exclusivity period with Peel Media aimed at agreeing a tie-up by the end of the summer. Under the options being discussed, Ascent could operate the high definition television studios at Salford Quays and manage global distribution of content produced on-site.

Bryan Gray, chairman of Peel Media, said: "Aside from having a first-class reputation within the television industry, Ascent serves major film studios, independent producers, game developers, advertising agencies and other content producers. We look forward to our discussions in the coming weeks and we are confident this will lead to an exciting partnership."
