Arena’s ticket service embraces smaller rivals

Echo Arena Liverpool, the city's 11,000-capacity waterfront venue, has broadened its offer by opening a ticket office for other attractions such as Chester Racecourse, New Brighton's Floral Pavilion and Knowsley Leisure & Culture Park.

Ticket Quarter, based in the Merseytravel centre in Liverpool's Queen Square, will sell tickets for music, comedy, theatre and arts, family entertainment, exhibitions and sport for a variety of regional venues, together with tickets for Echo Arena Liverpool events.

The ticket office opened on Tuesday along with a new website www.ticketquarter.co.uk and hotline for telephone bookings.

Echo Arena Liverpool, part of the Arena & Convention Centre Liverpool, has held 480 events since opening in 2008, welcoming 2.3m people.

Tim Banfield, commercial director of ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, said: "Echo Arena Liverpool has built up a strong reputation since we opened in 2008, in the marketplace and amongst customers.

"Ticket Quarter will develop our business whilst providing an enhanced experience for customers and a secure, robust, reliable ticketing service for promoters, venues and event organisers. We already have 300 events signed up to Ticket Quarter and this is set to grow.

"Ticket Quarter is just one of a number of products being offered by ACC Liverpool Ticketing Solutions to support event promoters and venues with their ticketing needs. We also offer bespoke ticketing systems, flexible website and on line products as well as contact centre and full box office solutions, customer service support and dedicated account management."

The waterfront venue established the new service after an increase in demand on its Echo Arena Liverpool box office. This will remain on site at Kings Dock along with the existing website www.echoarena.com.
