Architects needed for £150m Salford Uni project

University of Salford has published a tender for an architectural contract for the first phase of its £575m estates master plan.

The university plans to refresh its Adelphi Building with a new £30m school of music, media and performance and refurbish its Chapman Building, costing £4.5m, which can be used as a venue for arts and cultural activities.

One or more architect firms will be appointed for refurbishment works to the Chapman Building within the £150m first phase. This includes modernised art lecture theatres and a performance space, as well as a cafe and improvements to the circulation space.

Plans also include at least five new buildings, the tallest up to 12 storeys, refurbishment of remaining premises, 2,000 new bed spaces and a hotel and conference centre.

Deadline for submitting tenders is Tuesday 15 September.
