Architect appointed for Brampton hospital plans

An award-winning American architect practice has been appointed to design a new health campus in Brampton, Cumbria.

Dallas-based Jonathan Bailey Associates, which designed Hexham General Hospital in Northumberland, is to develop a blueprint for the site.

Jonathan Bailey Associates has a portfolio of designs of medical offices, surgeries and hospitals in the UK and America.

The location of the new centre in Brampton is yet to be decided and until then design specifics cannot be finalised, but NHS Cumbria said they are confident it will meet its needs.

Two sites are being put forward as possible locations for the Brampton centre, one being in Union Lane.

Brampton Cottage Hospital, Moot Lodge Nursing Home, a doctor's surgery and community facilities are all to be merged into one site, as part of a countywide review of health and social care.
