Anwyl submits plans for 72 homes in Barton
Anwyl Homes has submitted plans for a 72-home scheme in Barton near Preston.
The scheme is situated on a 9.3-acre parcel of land off Garstang Road and will be called Lawrence Gardens. It comprises 50 detached homes and 22 affordable homes.
As part of its Section 106 agreement, Anwyl is to make a number of financial contributions to benefit the local community, including around £750,000 towards primary and secondary education, highways improvements, local footpath improvements and travel plan provision. It will also help fund junction works to improve safety and reduce traffic speeds along Garstang Road.
John Grime, managing director at Anwyl Homes Lancashire, said: “We have identified a great site in Barton and are proposing to develop it with a range of high quality new-build family homes and public open space.
“With countryside and great amenities on the doorstep, the site is in a super location. With the new Broughton bypass minutes away, commuters have easy access to Preston, the old market town of Garstang and the wider North West via the M55 and M6.”
A decision on planning is expected early this year.

Considering the current density of traffic in the area, another 150 cars plus will add to the standing traffic on Garstang Road and the Broughton Bypass. I suggest a Helicopter pad on the site so that the poor beggars trying to get to work will have a much needed option.
