Anwyl on site in Barton after Covid hold-up

The Lancashire branch of the Flintshire-based housebuilder has started building its 72-home scheme off Garstang Road north of Preston and work is due to complete by 2023.

Lawrence Gardens, comprising nine acres, will provide 50 four-bedroom detached homes for market sale and a further 22 available for affordable rent and shared ownership. The first homes will be completed by next summer.

Under the conditions of the planning approval, grated in January, Anwyl is to make section 106 contributions towards the local community, including more than £750,000 towards primary and secondary education, highways improvements and upgrading local footpaths.

Elsewhere in Lancashire, Anwyl Homes is on site in Longridge, delivering 83 homes on an eight-acre site off Whittingham Road.

Anqyl is now back on site at 100% of its developments across the North West and North Wales.

Preston-based planning consultant PWA Planning and Penwortham firm Gallagher Technical & Design advised on planning. Ascerta is the landscape design consultant.

John Grime, Anwyl Homes Lancashire’s managing director, said: “We had been due to start construction of our Lawrence Gardens development earlier this year when the Covid-19 pandemic struck.”
