Flintshire-based Anwyl Homes is launching a Lancashire division, with the recruitment of John Grime, formerly managing director of Redrow in the North West, to build and lead a new team.
Grime joined Anwyl last week, after 25 years with Redrow. He is tasked with growing the new arm of the company to cover a geographical region which includes Lancashire, Merseyside, Warrington and Greater Manchester.
Anwyl Homes Lancashire’s growth target is to complete more than 300 homes each year, and reach a turnover of £75m within five years.
Grime is recruiting a team to support the housing delivery strategy, which within the five years could require up to 50 people. The company is looking for offices along the M6 and M61 corridor.
According to Grime, sites are already being lined up in the region; one deal is with solicitors, while two more are in negotiations. All plots could accommodate up to 100 houses, and it is hoped that projects could start on site next year, with the first sales by summer 2018.
Anwyl Homes is focusing on plots in Lancashire that could support more than 50 homes, in established residential markets such as settlement extensions or near to town centres.
A family-run business, Anwyl has three divisions; Anwyl Homes, Anwyl Construction, and the recently established Anwyl Land. The company has been based in North Wales for 85 years.
Housing managing director at Anwyl Homes, Mathew Anwyl, said: “The Anwyl brand is already well known in North Wales and Cheshire where we have an excellent reputation within the local community and anticipate building around 400 new homes from our head office in Ewloe, Flintshire, this year. With the launch of Anwyl Homes Lancashire, we aim to further grow the Anwyl brand and take our award winning high quality new build homes to a much wider audience that we have been able to previously.”
