Anwyl extra care proposal set for consent

The construction arm of Anwyl Group wants to redevelop the site of the former Park House guest house in Waterloo, Sefton to create an 89-apartment extra care scheme and a block with 54 flats designed for people over 55.

Under Anwyl’s plans, the guest house building, which has been vacant since 2015, would be demolished to make way for a 47,000 sq ft, four-storey block containing the 54 flats fronting Park Road.

The five-storey extra care block, designed for those with care needs, such as people living with dementia, would be located to the south-west of the three-acre site.

The apartments would be available on shared ownership tenures and for affordable rent, according to housing association Your Housing Group, which would operate the development.

Cassidy + Ashton is the architect and planning consultant for the project.

A previous application to convert the existing Park House into a nursing home was approved in 2017 but, while work started on site, the scheme was later found to be unviable and was not completed.
