Amstone hires for rental sector growth

Amstone Developments has appointed Richard Robins as associate director for acquisition and development as the Altrincham-based firm looks to secure “three to four” further build-to-rent developments.

Amstone Developments hopes to build on the success of its build-to-rent Clippers Quay development in Salford which received £98.7m in forward funding from listed residential landlord Grainger last year. The development, currently under construction, will be one of the largest build-to-rent schemes outside London, Amstone said, with 614 flats in five blocks, alongside 17,000 sq ft of amenity and commercial space. Once fully let, Grainger anticipated it would deliver more than £7.5m of gross rent each year.

Robins said the developer is now hoping to secure “three to four” sites with a capacity of around 300 units apiece in core cities across the North West.

Robins joined Amstone from the Canal & River Trust where he was the regeneration development manager. He has 25 years’ experience within the residential and mixed-use sectors with previous roles at Your Housing Group, Redrow, and David Wilson Homes.
