Amey recommits to Matchworks

Public services provider Amey has renewed its 49,000 sq ft lease at developer Urban Splash's Matchworks estate in Liverpool, and has taken a further 16,000 sq ft.

The Matchworks scheme was completed by Urban Splash in 2001 and is located within the former Bryant & May Match Factory. The conversion of a nearby storage warehouse was completed in 2007. The two phases total 166,000 sq ft.

There is currently 8,600 sq ft of studio space, and 31,000 sq ft of offices available on the site.

Urban Splash said the deal with Amey was the eleventh completed at the development since January.

Claire Thomas, head of asset management at Urban Splash, said: "Deals like these help the Matchworks continue to prove itself as one of the most pioneering commercial developments in the Merseyside region. This letting surpasses many in the region this year and is equivalent to approximately one third of the entire take up of all of the suburban regions in 2013 combined."

CBRE, GVA and Hitchcock Wright are joint agents on the scheme.
