Amazon Warrington expansion approved

AEW Architects has secured planning permission for a 39,000 sq ft extension and roof raising of the Amazon distribution warehouse at Kingsland Grange, Warrington on behalf of Property Alliance Group.

The e-commerce giant agreed a 12-month lease with Alliance on the 85,000 sq ft unit in October 2014 as part of seasonal expansion plans.

With the extension approved, the new plans will provide a self-contained warehouse extending to around 123,000 sq ft.

Alan Lamb, associate director at AEW, said: "We are thrilled to have secured planning permission for this project. This builds not only on our portfolio of work with Property Alliance Group, but it also continues to strengthen our experience in the industrial and logistics market, which is one of AEW's key sectors."

B8RE and Savills are the agents. Quoted rent at the warehouse is £5.25/sq ft.
