Alliance gets go-ahead for Accrington Tesco

Tesco Stores and Manchester-based developer, Property Alliance Group, have been granted detailed planning consent for a £32m food store in Accrington, Lancashire.

The 90,000 sq ft store and 590 car parking spaces will be built on a 6.5-acre site in Eagle Street, in the town centre, and marks the biggest single investment in Accrington in the last five years.

Jonathan Mather, director, Property Alliance Group, commented: "The site's close proximity to the town centre will drive linked trips to the shopping core and help breathe new life into Accrington."

Cheetham & Mortimer acted on behalf of Property Alliance Group and Tushingham Moore acted on behalf of Tesco Stores.
