Aldi anchors CPG Warrington park

Warrington Council has sold a 2.9 acre site to Alderley Edge-based Consolidated Property Group which plans to develop a mixed-use scheme anchored by Aldi.

The £8m neighbourhood centre on the A49 Winwick Road will contain 28,000 sq ft of retail and leisure along with a 150-space car park.

Prelets have been agreed with Aldi, Joseph Holt for a pub restaurant, a drive-through Costa Coffee, Greggs anbd Coral bookmakers.

The site previously housed the Fordton Leisure Centre which was vacated in 2012 when the £30m Orford Jubilee Hub opened.

The CPG scheme is due to open in April 2014. The project team includes main contractor Weiser Construction, architects the Harris Partnership, agent Lamb & Swift, project manager Warrington Martin, planner Steven Abbott Associates and engineer Shepherd Gilmour.
