Airport to host May Day climate change summit

Manchester Airport is to host the third North West Prince's May Day Summit on Climate Change on 1 May 2009.

The summit is organised by Business in the Community and will call on the businesses taking part to take urgent action to tackle climate change. Around 200 of the region's business leaders will gather together to share best practice examples on finding and implementing solutions on climate change and debate the key issues with environmental experts.

The event is part of ten linked events across the UK, with the main event being held in London. The North West summit will be sponsored by the North West Development Agency, United Utilities, Enworks and Envirolink and will launch a programme to support the Prince's May Day Network in the North West.

Themes to be discussed at the event will include innovation and skills, travel and transport and practical action for businesses to tackle climate change.
