Ainscough appoints new MD

Leigh-based Ainscough Strategic Land has promoted Paul Martin to managing director from land director.

Martin has been with ASL since Martin Ainscough founded the company in 2007 following the sale of Ainscough Crane Hire.

Martin said: "I am looking forward to continuing the success of the company. We have a great team and a high quality portfolio of sites. Our focus over the coming years is to maximise the value of our portfolio and add further high quality sites as and when possible."

Martin Ainscough, chairman of Ainscough Strategic Land, said: "Paul has proved that he is very capable of leading our team of in-house planners and external consultants. He is very entrepeneuraial and has the ability to conclude deals. I wish him and his team continued success in the future."

ASL specialises in the acquisition, master-planning and promotion of land and property for sustainable development across the UK.

The company's portfolio is funded by its own family trust capital resources and includes land at Tytherington in Cheshire, the former Enersys battery site in Salford, Ditton Sidings in Widnes, a sustainable urban extension in Barwell and promotion agreements on greenfield development sites in Bishop Auckland, Barwell, the Cotswolds, Durham, Chester and Swindon.
