Ainscough adds three to land bank

Leigh-based Ainscough Strategic Land has acquired three sites around the country including one in Grange over Sands overlooking Morecambe Bay.

The acquisitions total 40 acres all earmarked for urban extension projects. The other two locations are Carlton village, outside Selby, Yorkshire and Barwell, Leicestershire.

The company was set up in 2007 by Martin Ainscough following the sale in the same year of his eponymous crane hire business for £255m

Nigel McGurk, managing director of Ainscough Strategic Land, said: "We spend a lot of time investigating and identifying sites. Crucially, beyond acquisition, ASL has the skills and resources to be able to invest the expertise and money required to deliver high quality projects which stand the test of time."

Ainscough Strategic Land has a dozen assets and is looking for large commercial or residential plots in prime undeveloped spots.

The company has existing sites in Bishop Auckland in Durham, Cuddington in Cheshire, Dolgarrog in North Wales and Shipston-on-Stour in the Cotswolds.
