AEW expands housing team

Manchester-based AEW Architects has set out its stall in the residential sector with recruitment of six members of the housing team from Bernard Taylor Partnership.

The team, led by Colin Savage, will complement an existing body of 71 architects, interior designers and architectural technicians. It is already briefed on a series of housing projects.

Steve Burne, AEW managing director, said: “Housing and social housing in particular was identified as a target area within our business plan, to complement our other work in apartments, hotels and hospital accommodation.

“To obtain a team of highly regarded specialists is a real coup for AEW and gives added diversity in this continually growing sector.”

Savage added: “Housing is a key driver in the Northern Powerhouse and Greater Manchester’s spatial framework agendas, which our clients have responded to positively in their development plans.

“Combining our housing expertise and experience with AEW’s renowned architecture skills, pedigree and resources, we are offering clients an enhanced service in delivering their goals.”
