Administrators put engineering yard up for sale

The 1.5-acre former premises of failed St Helens business Royden Engineering are being offered for sale with an asking price of £575,000.

The Manchester office of Sanderson Weatherall has been instructed to sell workshop, warehousing and office facilities at the site in Sandwash Close, Rainford by Les Ross and Matthew Dunham, joint administrators to Royden Engineering at Grant Thornton.

Royden Engineering, which designed, fabricated and erected structural steelwork, entered administration in September 2010.

Sanderson Weatherall is seeking a buyer for the 38,333 sq ft inter-connecting workshop, warehouse and office complex close to the A570 Rainford bypass with access to the A580 East Lancs Road and the M6 and M57.

Rory Dillon, surveyor, corporate services at the Manchester office of Sanderson Weatherall, said the site was suitable for reconfiguration into smaller industrial units or for engineering or storage purposes.
