AA Projects names new MD

Kenneth Wood, formerly of Sweett Group, has taken over from Paul Allen as managing director of the Sale-based management and property consultant in the first stage of a five-year succession plan.

Allen has now become chairman of the business, which he founded.

Wood was director at Sweett, and has been given the remit to further develop the AA Projects brand and to continue the growth of the company.

There are currently 45 employees working in the Sale office.

The business is owned by three directors; Allen, Niall Wright and Kevin McEvoy, who are looking for a succession plan that will involve a management buy out over a period of five years, opening up ownership internally. Full details are yet to be finalised but the plan is for ownership to be maintained among employees.

As managing director, Wood he will have responsibility for strengthening the company’s national coverage and consolidating its regional office base, along with diversifying the service and sector offer in line with market demands.

Wood said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious and dynamic independent consultancy. The revised structure and plans for succession will provide an excellent framework for future growth and diversification.”
