AA Projects expands

Management and property consultant AA Projects has made two appointments to its commercial project management team in Manchester, with Matthew Gerken and Chris Shaw joining the company.

Gerken has been appointed associate project manager following seven years with GVA. He has worked on a number of projects in the region including the delivery of the Asda supercentre at Ellesmere Port and schemes in Spinningfields including the Civil Justice Centre.

Shaw joins the team from KMB as project manager and has previously worked as lead project manager on the completion of new retail space at White City and the delivery of the Ellesmere Centre, a new-build shopping centre in Walkden.

Recent commissions for AA Projects include retail and mixed-use developments for Derwent Group Holdings in White City in Manchester and Edge Lane in Liverpool. Additional work is being undertaken for Damson Restaurants.

There are now nine people in the project management team based in Manchester, and the head office is in Sale.

Justin Myall, director of AA Projects and head of the commercial team in Manchester, said: "We are seeing the property sector in the region strengthening, with exciting new prospects emerging. It is great to be able to grow the team and broaden our offer and capability in the region."
