A2 Architects falls into administration

A2 Architects, Dylan Jones' Liverpool-based practice, has called in administrators but is continuing to trade.

Hale-based insolvency firm Milner Boardman & Partners were appointed as administrators to A2 on Thursday last week.

Jones said the administration was due to a "substantial debtor position" and the administration allowed it to trade through whilst collecting the debt. He said the company had a mixture of residential and commercial work on currently.

In 2009, A2 gained planning permission for a hotel in Hamilton Square , Birkenhead, but the scheme was not delivered. The hotel scheme is held in a separate company and is unconnected to the administration.

Jones has the majority of the shares in A2 with business partner Jonathan Smith the remainder.
